Thank you, I'll grab my meter and a friend and check. Would you happen to know which of the wires in the round-connector carries the left/right sound channels? Inside the wire, there is an uninsulated thin wire, two insulated thin wires (orange and grey), and an large insulated wire - inside the large insulated wire is another uninsulated wire, and two more colored insulated wires. I guessed that the large inner insulated wire carried the signal, left and right with a common ground, but couldn't get any sound out of that when hooked to the amp. I thought I tried every possible combination - is is possible that the deck might not send out a signal if it doesn't detect the amp? Thanks again
