Squealing is not a normal sound, especially while cranking. It could be a problem with how the starter motor meets the flywheel. It could also be a belt problem of some kind. Inspect the serpentine belt. Does it look worn, perhaps unevenly worn? It might be a sign of a misalignment. It's interesting that both the harmonic balancer AND the idler pulley went bad. What were the symptoms? The harmonic balancer gives the squeal at startup, but the idler pulley tends to give a rumbly vibration you can hear from the belt end of the engine.
I would get it checked out.
