I'm currently the owner of a 1990 9000T with 185K miles. Here is my situation and dilema: I'm planning to buy a brand new car (hopefully the new 9-3 if it is still a true "Saab") around 2003/2004. I've had my 9000 for the past 3 years and I absolutely LOVE it. But now I've reached a problem; should I keep the 9000 for the next few years and put money into maintaining it, or should I look for a newer used 900 or 9000? I just put a new tranny in the car about 30K ago, just bought new rims about 10K ago. The interior is near mint, the paint is pretty good, and the engine still runs fine. I drive between Albany, NY and Springfield, MA a lot on the Mass Pike, and I'm always affraid of breaking down (which has happened to me twice in this car).
What do you think? Upgrade to a newer car with less miles, or put the money into this car to keep it running (and maybe get a cell phone for emergencies)? Thanks for all your input!!
