Aaron you have done all the easy fixes to help with the pictogram false warnings now it's time for the cure! The taillight assemblies on the late 1980's Saab's are made up on a buss bar system. The true problem with the design is the fingers that capture the buss bars at the bulb sockets. If you examine the finger/contacts at the bulb sockets you will see with time corrosion/high resistance can and does build up on the sides on the buss bars and these fingers. The design makes it hard to clean/examine this interface. So what i have done is to push the buss bar done into the fingers and pull it up a couple of times to improve the connection. It does work for a period of time, but then goes bad again. The true solution to the problem i have found is to solder the connection.Using a small screwdriver i pry the finger/bulb contact up a small amount(so as not to melt the plastic taillight below it)and then solder the buss bar to finger joint on the ground side of the lamp sockets for the brake light.100% solution to the problem when this is done. Now i miss having the pictogram randomly coming on - it always dark now!!! Any questions on the process email me.
