It sounds more like a problem that crops up when the car warms up. I doubt it would be water in the gas - that would be a problem both warm and cold.
If I had to guess, I'd say it might be your DI (Direct Ignition) cassette. They do die after a while, and one sign is bucking and sputtering. It makes sense that the problem would occur when the cassette is warm. The tough part is the DI is pretty expensive (around $300) so you don't want to swap it out on a lark. Perhaps a dealer could put in a spare and let the car warm up. The other option would be to get the DI warm in a car, then pull it out and test it. Either way, a dealer is called for. (Darn).
