Tom,
Running your fan all the time (especially the high speed fan) may not be a good idea. It might toast your fan motor and/or keep the engine below its optimal temp on cold days or long freeway drives.
I have rigged an aftermarket thermostat switch (available at any auto parts store for $35) to the HIGH SPEED FAN on my '89 9KT. I have burned 3 relays in the past caused by a short that no one can seem to find. This aftermarket unit is adjustable, so i've set it to come on when the temp gauge is at the 10 o'clock position. The installation was a matter of splicing 4 wires and locating the temp sensor, and it has worked for the last 2 years.
Following someone else's advice on this BB, I also hard-wired a mechanical switch to the LOW SPEED FAN and located it on the dash. I just flick the switch when I'm stuck in traffic & the engine stays cool.
Good luck.
