Forget who it was that was currently using one though! I just bought one, and physically installed it, but I have not connected it to the ignition yet, as I got a very late start last Sunday, and darned lack of daylight, etc.. Just have to put in new plugs and connect about four wires, cake on Saturday. I do have the Jacogs plug wires connected however, and noticed the car runs a little smoother now, particularly when cold. The Bougicord wires they replaced were barely a year and a half old, same for the NGK BCP7EV plugs..
The new plugs Jacobs recommended for use with their system (I got the Omni Magnum) are a $0.99 Autolite plug, plain copper core, nothing fancy. Should be interesting!
Will keep everyone informed once I hook this baby up.
Oh, and if you have a '91, don't think you will be able to use a Jacobs system (at least not like mine), because doesn't the '91 have Direct Ignition? At least the turbo, I think? I was browsing some Jacobs literature though, and I am pretty sure I saw that they now have a system designed to work with distributorless (DI) vehicles..
Cheers,
Aaron Gilbert
