clutch pedal hitting floor

the shifting on my 88 9Kt hasn't been right since having the entire clutch assembly replaced. The clutch pedal feels normal, but it does go to the floor. Is this normal? I'm thinkng that maybe the pedal assembly has worn a bit, and that I can tweak the pedal assembly with some washers or creative bending to restore "normal pedal travel". any thoughts would be appreciated.
