Gary,
I believe your comments on 205 tires is based on running on stock wheels ? I've been running 205's on 6" Rota RB wheels on a lowered '76 EMS for street and 205 on 6.5 ?-brand wheels for track and have 'zero'
rubbing front or rear. '87 900T hubs/axles front and rear.
900 rear axle is a bit wider than 99, giving a little more inside clearance.
I have added spacers at the upper rear link on rear axle because I was worried about sidewall rubbing under hard cornering, but no evidence of such with about 1/2" clearance.
Alignment and tire wear - I run heavily modified alignment spec and get no noticeable tire wear, actually better than stock alignment in my opinion.
I think aggressive alignment actually gives better clearance in the front.
2.4 degrees camber and max castor. My only clearance issue has been with the RH engine mount and A-arm mount.
My question here is about running the stock 16" Aero wheel - 6.5 x 16, 27mm offset. I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for build of a '77 2-door, 16V Turbo, 5-spd, '88+ hubs and axles. Body work and paint are finished and I hope to have all components on the floor and ready to go for an efficient assembly.
