I dressed the oil pump cover and got the correct O-ring. Then I managed to salvage the wastegate from my donor car.
I rebuilt the turbo and drove the car a bit. I runs really badly, misfires/backfires and gets worse as the car warms up.
After changing all the ignition parts (including distributor) with no real improvement I got desperate and took it to a local Saab shop. I made sure to ask if he has worked on CIS cars back in they day and he assured me he had. The fellow cleaned my injectors, checked all the ignition (yes I told him), took a compression test (reasonable), and finally checked valve lash (fine). He gave up before doing the thing that, now that I know a bit more would be the place to start, checking the CIS system fuel pressures.
My system pressure is about 72PSI but my hot and cold pressures are pretty much that also, from which I gather I need to check/rebuild my WUR.
On testing my injector flow, lifting the throttle plate fully gives me good spray pattern and very similar volume but with the plate only slightly open I get very different results... large variations in volume delivered and two injectors pulse while two stream, which ones should I be replacing?
Thanks,
P_
