Fuel Pump Mount Hose?

I'm in the process of resurrecting my trusty 1976 99GL. I drained the gas from the tank drain plug and the interior of the tank is in perfect shape. However, the large diameter hose that the fuel pump mounts on (suspends the pump from the mounting bracket on top) has turned to jello. The short piece of hose on the bottom to the pickup screen is fine.
Napa sold me some fuel filler hose with an ID of 2.25" and it fits perfectly. For reference, it's part number NAPA 1055 Fuel Filler Hose. You can see it here: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Fuel-Tank-Filler-Neck-Hose-2-25-/_/R-NBG1055_0498867869
Now my question: Do you think this hose is ok for this submersible application? The hose is rated as "meets SAE 30R6 specifications and SAE 30R7 material specifications" It looks like it's the same material both inside and out, but it's essentially the "outside" of the hose that will be exposed to gas as it's mounted into the tank.
If not, has anyone found a replacement hose for this application? All of the submersible fuel hose I've found is very small diameters.
Thanks!
