update:
I have boxes and boxes of parts ready to install - from bushings to springs to brakes (although I need rear calipers to rebuild still). I have swapped out the ignition switch so it starts now..
More to do still.
What I need now is a gas tank. The one in there now is too far gone to restore without a significant investment. Any leads would be appreciated as I am not having any luck looking online.
As to the car itself.. it is a weird mix of parts. It was built in 1971 and appears to have been sold as a 1972. If I were to guess, it is either one of the first 72s or so late in the 71 production line that it got some of both product lines. Either way, it's a mutt and I can't wait to get it on the road.
On the to-do list still:
- Replace all of the bushings
- Replace the rear springs
- Replace shocks at all four corners
- Replace the ball joints
- Replace the tie rod ends
- Replace/Rebuild the brake system
- Address the interior
- Address the door locks... they are jammed..
This is turning into a project.... and it's awesome.
So, gas tank.... any leads?
Thank you.
Michael
