The previous owner had put a nylon strip between the chain guide and the chain itself to put more tension on it. This came loose and made a huge noise. I was a little afraid that the chain guide had already been adjusted to its maximum, and that that was why the strip was in. Luckily for me though, it could easily been adjusted.
At around 130 km/h (80 miles/h) it is now really quit, due to the 900 gearbox. At this speed rpm is around 3000, which made my 1976 99 Wagonback into a great daily driver.
