I had the same dilemma with my 74 a few years ago. I spent months repairing the rust, then got tired of it for a few years, then started back on it only to stall again. My problem was not just the rust, but the fact that the car had been painted twice already by me. That also required me to strip the many layers of paint off the rest of the body before I could spray any more. That was the major factor in me deciding it was just too much work. I called Chip Lamb one day to order some parts, and he directed me to a 73 with an almost rust free body. Looking back, it was alot easier to dump all my good parts into the rust free body then trying to continue repairing the basket case.
I had already done all of the metal work on the driver side of the car before I decided to cut it to pieces. The vertical repairs are not that bad at all, but if you look at some of the pics I linked, the rocker panels and the over head repairs are not user friendly in my opinion. Another reason for cutting it to pieces.
Click on my name above and send me an e-mail. I know where a few 99's are down south that look to have decent bodies. All it would take is a weekend, a truck, and a trailer to get one home.
