the silver EMS is getting the paint. apparently silvers and golds are the hardest to get even, so i don't even want to attempt learning on this one. pretty much everything that can get removed from the car is off, including the rear window vents so they can spray in there. i have had trouble R&R-ing the door handles and locks from my parts car. it's really tight inside the door casing, and i can't get access to the components. but they have to come off for painting - would not want to leave them and tape them.
one issue is going to be removing the front and rear windows. i am a little aprehensive to take them off and not get them sealed back correctly, so i have inserted a 3/8" rubber tube under the seal to raise it up enough to spray under. seems to work pretty well.
the creased front corner section that i had mentioned cutting out actually pounded out pretty well - i was surprised how much of it came back! doug, very glad you mentioned trying that first. now, just need to fill and block it.
any words on masking and final prep? is it okay to use the blue painters tape, or is there something better?
thx!!
