The rear of the 99's do have a shock mount on the inside of the rear wheel well(the upper mount).....as do C-900's. They are prone to corrosion because dirt and debris can collect there rusting it out. I have repaired this area by welding in a big washer, but failures are not common place. The front shock mounts use the eyelet design(top and bottom), and are rarely prone to failure.
The repair I did on the rear consisted of grinding away the rust, welding a patch over the holes, grinding down the welds, then sealing with duraglas......After conforming the duraglas, I used USC kromate light for the remaining filler...then sanded it, primed it, sanded it, primed it, sanded it, chip guarded it, then painted it.
