I have been kicking myself for not putting a 5 speed in when my 4 speed went out two years ago. My 76 99 ems is my daily driver. I have no complaints with the 4 speed in town, on two lane highways (~65 mph) and mountain roads. I am not a fan of the 4 speed on the freeway as the engine rpm is about 4k at 75 mph.
