The 73 core might actually work, but where in the world will he find a heater valve in good condition that doesn't leak. 73 was the only year they used that core and valve. Not doing my homework when I built my 73, I decided to use a valve(non-leaking) and core from an earlier model(1972). When I stuffed the motor in, the outlets on the core went directly into the back of the alternator. I ended up making a copper U and blocked off both hoses from the engine. The core has no hoses hooked to it, and I don't have heat. No matter...it is a fair weather car.
