You may want reconsider putting a front sway bar on your 99. I have a rear Addco bar on my 99 and really like the way it tightens the rear up. I also have a front bar that I probably won't put on the car(no its not for sale). There are a few reasons for not wanting a front bar on this application. The double wishbone front suspension dials in more negitive camber the farther it is compressed. So in a corner as the outside front suspension compresses it is dialing in more negitive camber, this helps keep the tread in full contact with the road resisting the forces on it that are trying to fold the tread under. This gives you more grip. A negitive side effect of having a front sway bar is it increases the tendency to lift the inside wheel at extreme cornering speeds/gforces. If you lift a front wheel while cornering in a 99 you have zero power till that wheel comes back down to mother earth unless of corse you have a limited slip diff. Plus the unneaded bar is just going to add weight and increase understeer which the 99's already have plenty of. I believe the SAS and Adco bars are now 7/8 inch for the front and 3/4 inch for the rear. I think Adco makes the bar for SAS by the way. I have an old Adco bar for the front of my 99 and its 3/4 inch just like the rear bar. Anyone want to take a guess as to why they Increased the size of the front bar, which INCREASES understear? I am sure there legal advisor had something to say about that. I would suggest just installing the rear bar from a 900 first, then play around with tires and air pressures and see what kind of handling bias you have. If you are just building a fast street car and want to increase the amount of understeer on your ride then go ahead and pay big bucks for and install a front bar. It you are trying to make your car handle better at the limit then dont bother. Just slap a rear bar on it and be done with it. I know two people who are activly racing 99's here in the states. Mike White with a 1980 Pro Rally 99 and John Wirt with a 99 notch back turbo AutoX car. John runs with just a rear bar and Mike Runs with a rear bar on Tarmac stages or special track events.
I believe all the money and effort of getting a front sway bar on a 99 can be much better spent. Just another way to look at it guys.
