I just finished upgrading my 99 B-motor turbo with a 1984 900 turbo exhaust manifold. John Wirt was the first to do this conversion that I know of, and I modeled mine off of his. I used a 900 turbo, and the wastegate housing off of a 9000. This allowed me to use the first Six inches of the 9000 down pipe. It has a funky formed steel elbo. To this I welded up a custom 2.5 inch exhaust leading to a Dynomax Race Magnum muffler. I would say this exhaust is plenty till you get into the 200 HP range. Bigger is better when it comes to Turbo exhausts but for a warmed up B motor i think 2.5 inch pipe is perfect. The later style wastegate alows for the addition of the APC system to the B-motor. I am running with a 1990 APC box and it sure makes the 99 sing right along.
Email me if you want some pix of the conversion.
