Floaty Steering

I recently purchased a 2011 9-5 Premium 4 with about 48,000 miles. I like the car with the exception of the steering which I consider to be 'floaty'. Its not that the steering is loose or worn, but it is susceptible to kick back from road imperfections, also it will follow a linear groove in the road. Almost acts like the alignment doesnt have enough toe in. I inflated the tires to the recommended 38lbs which helped a bit. Just wondering if this is a symptom of these models or should I be searching further to correct it.
