wheels fitting the axle hub Posted by Thomas [Email] (#2152) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Thomas) on Thu, 16 Nov 2000 19:25:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had winter tires and steel wheels installed on my saab at
one of the popular tire shop chains. I've noticed that diameter of the
center hole in the wheels is 1 or 2 inches bigger than the diameter of the
axle hub (universal wheel ar hwat??). When I spoke out my concern about safety and accuracy of rotation to the shop, shop technician assured me that it is absolutely safe and accurate, and that all aftermarket wheels have bigger center hole than hub.
I would like to get official manufacturer's response, as to is it safe and
normal to install wheels with center hole bigger that axle hub.
What do you think about this case?
