Interesting. I'm relatively new to the board, and don't own a current model 9-3. Has his been identified by SAAB as a "battery" problem, or something else involving the charging system which is leading to premature battery failure? I noticed Mitch's losing streak with his Transport. On the other hand, my Chevy Pick-up ran for 5 trouble-free years with its original equipment AC Delco battery. And it's happily running on its second one now. Actually, I've used the AC Delcos in all my vehicles for years, and have found them to give longer lasting service than Die-Hards. Don't get me wrong. GM has their problems, and I sometimes cringe at their involvement with SAAB. But I don't think we should be too quick to blame every SAAB problem on GM all the time. SAAB had their share of problematic parts long before GM came along.
