Yes: Its only not a big deal if you are spending 20 minutes at a time on a thruway, but if you need to spend four hours on such a road at a stretch, it gets to be annoying as you have to constantly maintain pressure on the wheel to go straight which fatigues the driver and thus is contrary to SAAB's market literature which claims the ergonmics of the car are supposed to promote active and passive safety. I am going to try taking my 9-3 to West County Saab and see if their shop does a better job of alleviating this annoying steering defect. Mid America in St Louis has "treated" the car three five time for this "problem".
However after cruising I-70 from St Louis to Indy and back again, I am really tired of this problem and if they can not fix the problem, I will trade the car for a 9-5. I love SAABs, but I hate steering that makes me feel like I a fighting a strong crosswind when driving on less than perfectly flat roads. How can I confidently execute emergency manuevers when I need to constantly compensate for such lateral drag. Its like operating a boat in a strong cross current.
