Furthermore, I changed the oil on my 9-3 at 3500 miles and replaced it with synthetic oil (Mobil1). You will also notice better gas milage after about 7-8000 miles. This may examplify that the car is breaking in during the first 5k.
A lttle patience now will go a long way later...
