Due to their design, the wheels easily seize up against the centering hub. It took me 40 minutes to get my wheel off once when I got a flat, (and this was only a month after having my tires rotated). I hit against the inside sidewall of the tire with a wrench and also used some kicks with my shoes to get it free. I was worried the car was going to fall off the jack.
For you, I would recommend a rubber mallet. Keep hammering and turning so that you free it up from all sides.
