On some turbocharged cars this can occur, but is not a known Saab problem. At this pressure, the manifold pressure is one atmosphere, and the RPM's are probably low. The ECU has not commenced any fuel enrichment or timing retard to combat knock. So perhaps there is a knock or more likey a preknock condition that the Trionic is sensing, and it may then retard the timing in response. So that is my wild-ass-guess.
But the recommended course of action, as with many other running problems ,is plugs, gaps and fuel injector cleaner. If a knocking issue is involved, Techron concentrate will help remove combustion chamber deposits which can cause these problems. I don't think that this it available in Canada. Try at Walmart. If they don't have it, then any reputable fuel system cleaner could be tried.
Are they still putting MMT or whatever it was in the fuel there? I have always thought that my Saab ran better on fuel stateside than in Canada, were it had its first two years.
See you in TO in late April? 21st or 27th
