Hi,
I recently had oil service done (1,600 miles) in addition to my 30 day service check done on my '01 se.
When I inquired what oil the dealer used to perform the oil service they said quaker state 10w 40. They said they do not use anything else unless requested. When I asked them what kind of OEM oil my 9-3 was shipped with, they didn't know but, guaranteed me in was dyno oil.
I seem to recall hearing that SAAB is shipping '01's with "Semi Sythetic." The dealer said there is no such thing and that the Quaker State is to factory spec for this vehicle.
I am just concerned that my dealer (He sells mostly Audis and Porches, not SAAB's) did not put the correct oil in to SAAB's spec. Is there such thing as "Semi" and should the dealer have used it. Should I be concerned?
I plan on changing the Oil every 4,500 to 5,000 miles.
