Some of the other companies provide stiffer options(Abbott, B&G, Swedish Dynamics). As long as you upgrade the dampers to Koni, they are not too stiff, IMHO. Actually choice of dampers really effects the system. I have Swedish Dynamic springs with Koni dampers (currently at 1/2 turn I think). I really like the ride, not stiff. I also have a BMW e-30 M3 with Eibach pro-kit springs and Bilsteins, the ride is much stiffer (most likely due to the Bilsteins being quite a bit stiffer in compression that the Koni's).
For the first level of sport springs, Eibach usually designs them to only be a little stiffer so that the stock dampers COULD be used. For a Saab it doesn't make much sense not to change the dampers since everything is already disassembled (almost) to change the springs.
