Drove a Z3 3.0...

A friend let me drive his brand new BMW Z3 3.0. I was expecting to be blown away with the power, and it was responsive and powerful -- I got on it in first, second and third gears.
However, outside of the absence of turbo lag (probably everyone reading this knows that the Bimmer doesn't HAVE a turbo), there wasn't much difference in power from my base 9-3. And although the Z3 cockpit is attractive, I realized that I prefer the more spacious environment of the Saab, including, of course, the hatch.
So while I'm sure that the Z3 is a great car, and I didn't even get a chance to test the handling, it didn't change my opinion about the 9-3. In fact, nothing else that I've driven makes me wish for a different car. This is the second new BMW that I've driven in about a month, and all things considered, I prefer the Saab. OK, maybe I'd take a new M3, but at about $50,000 (US), it's too rich for my blood.
