The reality is most demos represent an excellent value. SAAB will stand behind its cars regardless of whether the car was used by the sales staff for personal transport or to woo customers to buy. Most 9-5 buyers are not inclined to abuse a demo and about the only way you could abuse a 9-5 would be to drive 60MPH over potholes which might dent the alloy rims and flatten the tires. You can't harm the bullet proof 2.3 liter base engine nor can you really abuse the fine automatic transmission. I would tend to stay away from demos equipped with standards as here there is room for undue wear and tear on the clutch and transmission. The sales staff I know took really good care of their demos since they knew these cars were part of the sellable inventory and they had no desire to lower their commission margins by banging up these cars. All of these cars have been friven hard and fast but then that it what they were designed for.
