Loaner Cars

Midtown SSI in Toronto did a good job on my 2001 93SE ........ called Speedy Glass to have my windshield replace and followed my instructions to use the supplied Mobil 1 in my trunk for the 16K oil change. For anyone that brings in their own oil, make sure you bring in 5 liters as one regular 4 litre container is not enough ..... you actually need 4.5 litres.
However, since replacing a windshield required not driving the car for 5 hours, I was given a loaner for the night ......... drum rolls please ...... a Saturn S-series! And to top it off, it was a base automatic with no power windows! What a pain it was to have to manually roll down your windows. I haven't driven an automatic for a long time and can't help it but to think how mindlessly easy it was.
I did run the air conditioning on the car for the entire time I was in it, temperature yesterday was near 30s. The only good thing about the loaner car was it was practically brand new, 340KM on the odometer.
I hear a lot of people on this board getting loaner cars in the form of Saab 95s ...... is that something that happens in the US only and not in Canada?
