I'll probably try the PDR, but I'm not sure it will work with this much damage. I've had the chance now in full sunlight and with the leaves removed to really look at the damage. Hole in third brake light, the plastic cover below the windshield is cracked in half; door tops, roof, tail, and hood all damaged. It even made a tear in the vinyl decal at the window. In the sunlight, all the metal has dent upon dent. The earlier dimples were in reality, just the worst ones. Around each of these, are much smaller dimples making for a surreal wave effect in the sunlight. I'd now estimate I've got at least two to three dimples per square inch over every horizontal surface... I hope PDR will work, but if they charge by the dimple, it's totaled...
Damage from the rest of the office was similar. One jeep even had twelve holes torn through the canvas top by the hail. Another lost a rear window. And a poor old 280Z was smacked hard enough that two of the emblems were stripped off. An A4 actually has hundreds of little half inch scratches in it's paint job. Our building lost three windows and the roof, and even by close of work today, there were several piles of hail left around the building... Also it only hit about a 4 square block area.
I'm hopefully to see an appraiser tomorrow, and I'll let you all know what the estimate of damage is...
BTW: I went to school at Oklahoma State, so I've experienced that kind of hail. I'm in Colorado, and this hail was that rock hard, golf ball sized stuff you get up here at altitude.
Thanks again,
Chris
