I am just back from a Euro road trip with a new 9-3 base coupe. Coming into Paris on a Friday afternoon, a big piece of road shrapnel destroyed a tire. Called SAAB Assistance at the French number in the Euro delivery book. Got a friendly English-speaking CSR, who told me that they would have to check with SAAB in Sweden first to make sure that I was a covered customer entitled to serivce. The CSR asked me to contact SAAB and have them fax confirmation of my authorization for assistance to them and gave me the number. When they could confirm I was covered, then i could get help. This being late on Friday afternoon, the earliest they could then be able to help me would be Monday, after I contacted SAAB for their confirmation back to France that I was a co9vered owner. As SAAB was down for the weekend, I was not served. I put the spare on and luckily found a nearby Michelin dealer. Not a satisfactory experience.
