I don't have the link to this on their web site, but on page 75 of the April 2002 issue of Consumer Reports, it lists the 2000 Saab 9-3 as one of the reliable used cars in the $25,000 - $30,000 range. (What they forgot to mention is that most used 2000 9-3 models can probably be bought for less than $25,000.)
Also, in the reliability history chart section (the charts with the little red and black circles), the 2000 9-3 has more solid red circles than 1999 and gets a "reliable" rating (red check). If you look at the progression year by year on that chart from the NG900 up through the 2000 9-3, the quality has steadily improved year by year, which would seem to match the general opinions on this board.
They still don't "like" the 9-3, but at least they now accurately show that the reliability is very good on the recent years.
