car until everything was checked out, that sounded really smart.
We use to get some flood cars here in LA from underground garages when we had a heavy down pour.
The cars came in on a towtruck, and the one thing you absolutly didn't want to do was to turn the ign key and try to start the car.
Many of the different computer boxes is mounted at a fairly low level in the car and gets filled with water. If it is no power going through the computer, it is possible to save it by opening up and dry it out before switching on the power.
If you do it the other way, turning the key while water filled. You might send a shock wave through the whole computer shorting out all kinds of good stuff inside.
The old C900 with automatic safetybelts, that computer was always power on and mounted under the rear seat. It always burned out when this things happened.
