... here's what happened.
I had put the car in service for 25K oil change and rotation. Service writer called to tell me about the worn-out brakes. My friend had a similar problem with her 9-3 and had to pay over $200 to replace the front brakes (different dealer). Since she had already paid the bill, SAAB could not get her a refund. I was not going to let that happen to me.
I called the standard 1-800 number for SAAB USA, and spoke with customer service. Who I spoke with, I can't remember. I gave them the info on the car, gave them the dealership's name and number asked them to talk and get back with me.
Before the end of the day, the dealership called me and said that SAAB would replace the brakes and resurface the rotors under warranty. I called SAAB USA and thanked them for their help. No problems with brakes since.
I had the car back the next day. This is top notch customer service by any measure.
