You will most likely replace your turbo before you ever touch your engine. The most reliable road engines on the planet are turbos. Over the road trucks log more than a million miles on turbo diesels. Not bad for reliability. True, boost is developed and may compromise certian components (head gasket for one). But the major components are engineered to handle the stresses developed by the powerplant. Just sit back and enjoy the whistle. I've got a turbo diesel and a turbo saab 9-3 and wouldn't have it any other way.
