I think the T-7 system is supposed to mask that little bit of the turbo lag we 1999 drivers relish, that slight calm before the kick in the kidneys we get when we hit the right pedal. It tries to emulate the smoothness of a six, at the sacrifice of experiencing the full nature of a turbo. The T-7 I drove felt plenty quick, but in a less visceral way.
