That line caught my attention, being another CPO owner (99 9-3, 64k). That's total bull, at least in my experience. Like you, I had a strut problem (right front was replaced). How can a car be "thoroughly checked" and not notice that the struts are bad? Just my experience, and I still have terrible noise in the front suspension. It all boils down to the dealer and their definition of "thorough" vs. hoping the buyer doesn't notice and hope they get away with not fixing things. From your list, pay particular attention to your heater control issues (I am assuming manual AC, not automatic). This is an issue with older 9-3s, there is a technical bulletin about this (see links at Townsend Imports, you can find it on the bottom of the page under "sponsors"). This fix is very expensive (like over $6-700) so hammer them about it if nothing else. Puff of steam. I thought I saw that from my car on occasion and thought I must've been seeing things. I think I see it more when it rains.
