I would never go the 10K recommended between oil changes. do the inbetween oil change yourself so you end up every 5k or so. It's cheap easy insurance for your turbo and engine. you want to get under your new car anyhow, so that you can identify anything that might be slightly amiss and can then bring it to the attention of your dealer DURING the warranty period.

you might not have as many "new model year" problems as the norm, because of the fact that it's a shared platform, and i believe the platform itself has some mileage....and no doubt many of the components are carried over. buy the extended warranty if it helps your head.
