Since there are no known patterns to rear suspension noise on these cars(I am a Saab tech) you are best of letting the dealer diagnose your problem. If you bring him a bunch of internet info you might just cloud the issue.
As for your ride issue you might try lowering your tire pressure to say 34PSI. The wheels are extremely tough on these cars and you should see an improvement in ride quality. Beyond that you could switch to 16" rims or even 15" but that would be an expensive day. Tires are really the primary suspension of a vehicle and they absorb most of the small bumps before the shocks and springs become active and 17" wheels with low stiff sidewall tires are going to adversely impact your ride quality.
