The 17" wheels are *gorgeous* BUT...

I don't think I can handle the ride quality anymore. Yes yes yes I know, Saab, tight sporty communicative suspension, etc. etc. But since ditching the stock 16" five-spoke stock rims on my 2002 9-3 SE 5-door and putting on the infamous double three-spokes with Michelin Pilot XGT H4 225/45's, the ride is just too harsh for me. I currently live in Manhattan Beach, CA (Los Angeles metro area), and the roads here aren't too bad. However, I am moving back to San Francisco in January, and the roads throughout that city are anything but smooth -- and I will be driving a lot.
Can anyone recommend a nice smooth, quiet, rain-safe tire for my Saab, in the stock 205/55-16" size? I really am no longer concerned with performance, because I won't have any occasion to take advantage of it in San Francisco. (Mulholland Drive and West Sunset Boulevard here in L.A. are a different story! Weeeee!)
Also, the five-spokes are okay, but I would like something a little different... perhaps the simple old 16" 3-spokes from the early 9-5? The three-spoke splits from saabcatalog? The exposed-lug viking shields? Has anyone seen any of these rims on a 9-3 SE? I wonder how they will look with the SE side skirts and front/rear spoilers... I have only seen them on the base 9-3.
Thanks so much for your input.
