I found the SZ50 to be the smoothest quietest stickiest tire I've ever used on my 9-3. 205/55/16. Too bad the closed them out. The were from Firestone of all things but the best I've used. The Michelin Pilot Primacy isn't too shabby but since it is OEM, it's very costly for what you get. I did not buy those again.
Avoid the Michelin Pilot HX or HGT H4 as they ride hard.
Also avoid the Toyo FZ4 and the Falken Azenis ST115 if you want a smooth ride. Those ride pretty hard. They don't make that particular Toyo anymore and the Falken works nicely on the 9-5 but I bet the Falken would be too much for a 9-3 ride-wise.
