as they will have the High-Output Turbocharged engines. Plenty in your price range; check the classifieds here. Fewer issues with models after '99 also. But the 5-speed is a must unless you are driving in traffic all the time, in which case I'd get a cheap/used Honda Civic automatic for the daily commute and save money towards a second car you can drive everywhere else and really appreciate - like a Saab.
But do yourself a favor and reacquaint yourself with a manual transmission, as nothing is quite like 2nd and 3rd gear accelleration in a turbocharged Saab.
