Well the dealer agrees that my DI is probably gone. Thanks to the board and the archives for helping me diagnose it myself. Anyway it was towed to the dealer, so now I have to pay their outrageous charges... $560 installed!

I am going to try calling Saab customer service for some help on this. Based on the frequency of these things dying and the likelihood of the car dying in a very bad spot (as mine was, I almost got creamed by a semi-truck and I could do nothing to get out of the way) I think there should be a recall similar to the ones they had on VWs when their ignition systems would die.
