Saab USA Customer Service was who insisted in having the valve cover and pan pulled (the $600 diagnosis), while telling me that the warranty would be extended to my car.

As I said--long before I spent THAT money, they could have given me the answer that seems to have been predetermined.

They had all my service records for several weeks before insisting that I have the pan pulled. Seems I've been stuck with the cost of doing their 'research'--so to speak. I first authorized only the valve cover--$100. That done, they pushed for the pan drop ($500). The customer should not be stuck with the cost of investigations that in the end benefit only Saab Customer service or no one at all. This game has cost me at minimum half the cost of what I still have to spend to get the car running again. All thanks to EDS contractors who are not employees of Saab and all knowing they are losing their jobs as the customer service center in Norcross is being closed. Their 'sludge' expert I learned yesterday left last week for a new job--which explains some of the delay in their determination. I'm not convinced anyone who is at all an expert in this issue has even SEEN the records I delivered to them.

Can't say I'm a happy camper about that.
