Anti-frost switch - Easy to replace? [long'ish] Posted by rob [Email] (#1828) [Profile/Gallery] (more from rob) on Mon, 17 Jul 2006 10:04:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
I've got a 1999 9-3SEHO that has exhibited all the signs of a bad overpressure switch on the AC compressor [blows cold for a minute, then warm, all pressures checkout, etc]. Even though I traced how to buy just the switch on the compressor seperately from Europe for about $110, based on all the labor of getting to the switch, I purchased a used compressor/clutch unit from my trusty autowrecker for $175. It is out of a wrecked Viggen with 38k on the clock.
I'm having my local shop dig in and replace the compressor for me [since my wife and I have twins on the way anyday now], but they are too slammed to do the anti-frost switch at the same time. How easy of a dig is this? remove glovebox then pretty easy to get at? [i'm buying from eeuroparts for $55]
while i'm in there, should i replace anything else?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
Rob
