Leaking Convertible Hydraulics

Shortly after dropping the top on my 1999 9-3 convertible for the first time this year I noticed oil puddling on the driveway near the rear passenger wheel. I raised the top half-way so I could inspect the hydraulic cylinders and noticed that the outer right piston is leaking around the seal. (I believe this lifts the 5th bow)
I'm a long way from a dealer and I hear that this can be a pricy repair. Since new cylinders are available online I was wondering if this is something that I could do myself without a tech 2 unit? Specifically, is it possible to bleed the air out of the system after changing the cylinder without cycling the top up and down? Does anyone know the procedure for changing a cylinder?
Thanks!
Jason
