changing manual tranny fluid - found no oil - what now Posted by adam [Email] (#344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from adam) on Sun, 3 Jun 2007 16:46:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
'99 9'3. Went to change my tranny fluid today. Undid the drain plug and got, no oil back at all. Thought maybe it was the slope of the ramps so slid the car off them and still no oil.
I know, SH*T.
Undid the fill plug and poured in 3 liters of tranny fluid and still not 1 drop out of the drain plug. The car runs fines, the transmission shifts pretty smoothly. It couldn't have been out of oil or it would have seized. I've added 3 liters, so I know it has oil, but not a drop will drain. From what little I could see inside the drain and fill plug, I didn't see any sludge. I couldn't find the stupid check window, so I don't know if it was even filled before I started.
I know that it's over filled. But does anybody know why it wouldn't drain. I would like to get the right amount of fluid in.
Thanks,
adam
